Don’t get me wrong; there is no substitute for referral to an ophthalmologist for complicated eye cases, but I understand that sometimes referral may not be an option for your clients. Through OphthoVet Consulting, I aim to help bridge the gap between general practice and ophthalmology specialty practice by providing relevant, economical, and practical solutions.

Hi, I’m Kristin, and I can’t wait to help you with your cases!
I am passionate about helping others, and I love teaching. I am really, really into ophthalmology and LOVE what I do!
I came up with the idea of OphthoVet Consulting after talking to fellow veterinarians from across the country at a recent conference where I lectured. I learned that many feel uncomfortable treating eyes, and several expressed difficulty referring cases due to geographical or financial limitations. Many ophthalmology practices are currently booked out weeks in advance for appointments, and some cases simply cannot wait!
I began wondering how I could help people outside of my current area learn to confidently manage ophthalmology cases.
I hope each case we work on together is an opportunity for practical, case-based continuing education, resulting in better outcomes for the patients in your hospital.

Our Services
Dr. Kristin Fischer of OphthoVet Consulting offers teleconsulting for your complicated ophthalmology cases to help you more confidently provide high-level care to your patients. Consults are designed to help you manage your specific challenging cases on a case-by-case level with a simple email or phone call.
E-mail Consultations
I provide email consultation on a case-by-case basis. You can upload photos, records, and diagnostic findings. I will provide a detailed report with my recommendations on treatment and follow-up for your patient.
Phone Consultations
I provide phone consultations on a case-by-case basis. You can schedule a time for a phone consultation and upload photos, medical records, and other pertinent information for your case.
Recheck Consultations
I would love to help you continue to manage cases we have discussed. Once the initial consultation has been closed, a repeat or recheck consultation can be scheduled via e-mail or phone to discuss your patient’s continued care.
Our Pricing
I will provide you case support and direction with a goal of achieving an accurate diagnosis for your patients and direction for continued appropriate care. I recommend that the cost of consultation be passed on to your clients. They will benefit from my involvement in their pet’s case management and my collaboration with you will also be valuable.
